Visitors Coming by Plane:
Tweed New Haven Airport is 10 minutes from the Yale campus by car or taxi. Bradley International Airport is located in Hartford, CT, approximately 1 hour from the Yale Medical Campus. The two New York Airports, JFK and LaGuardia, are about 2 ½ hrs. from New Haven. There is frequent limousine service from the major airports in the area.
Visitors Coming by Train (New Haven-Union Station):
New Haven is serviced by both MetroNorth and Amtrak. The New Haven stop is the closest to the Medical School. The taxi stand is located in front of Union Station.
Ground Transportation to/from Airports
It is not recommended that you take a taxi to New Haven from BDL, JFK, LGA or EWR airports as it would be very expensive. Taxi service from/to Tweed New Haven airport should be $10-15 from downtown New Haven.
Directions
From I-95 North or South:Take exit 47 to Route 34 west to exit 2. Turn left onto College street and continue onto Congress St. Turn right onto Cedar st. Harkness Auditorium is located at the Sterling Hall of Medicine at 333 Cedar St.
From I-91 South: Take Exit 2 onto Frontage road. Follow directions as above.
Parking Information:
The Air Rights Garage is open 24 hours a day and located between North and South Frontage roads, straddling York St.
The Howard Avenue Garage has visitor parking available from 6:30 am to 8:30 pm. It is located at the corner of Howard Avenue and Congress Avenue.
It is highly recommended that you allow 30 minutes for parking and getting to Harkness Auditorium. Do not park on city streets as street parking is metered and limited to 2 hours.
Air Rights Garage to Harkness Auditorium: Upon exiting the garage, walk on York Street towards Yale-New Haven Hospital and turn left onto Cedar Street. Go approximately a half block to 333 Cedar Street. Harkness Auditorium is through the main entrance of Sterling Hall of Medicine and to the left of the Information Desk in the Rotunda.
