Flavell Symposium 2015

 

The symposium, to be held on September 10 and 11, 2015, is aimed to honor Dr. Flavell’s numerous contributions in biomedical sciences and to provide an updated review on several scientific fields in which he has made great discoveries.

 

This event promises exciting presentations by leaders in Gene Structure and Regulation, Signal Transduction, Immune Regulation, Autoimmune and Inflammatory Diseases and is sure to draw strong attendance from scientists across diverse academic backgrounds.

Visitors Coming by Plane:

Tweed New Haven Airport is 10 minutes from the Yale campus by car or taxi. Bradley International Airport is located in Hartford, CT, approximately 1 hour from the Yale Medical Campus. The two New York Airports, JFK and LaGuardia, are about 2 ½ hrs. from New Haven.  There is frequent limousine service from the major airports in the area.

Visitors Coming by Train (New Haven-Union Station):

New Haven is serviced by both MetroNorth and Amtrak. The New Haven stop is the closest to the Medical School.  The taxi stand is located in front of Union Station.

Ground Transportation to/from Airports

It is not recommended that you take a taxi to New Haven from BDL, JFK, LGA or EWR airports as it would be very expensive. Taxi service from/to Tweed New Haven airport should be $10-15 from downtown New Haven.

This conference will be held at the Anlyan Center for Medical Research and Education, 1st Floor Auditorium, 300 Cedar Street, New Haven, CT. 

From 91 North or South Take Exit 47 to Route 34 West to Exit 2. Visitor parking available in Air Rights Garage (see parking information below). Enter the Air Rights Garage from North or South Frontage Roads, or York Street, or use the Howard Avenue Garage (see below). 

From 95 South Take Exit 1 to Route 34 West to Exit 2. Visitor parking available in the Air Rights Garage (see parking information below). Enter the Air Rights Garage from North or South Frontage Roads, or York Street, or use the Howard Avenue Garage (see below). 

Parking Information 

The Air Rights Garage is open 24 hours a day and located between North and South Frontage roads, straddling York St. Rates: 0-3 hours - $3 per hour, 4-10 hours - $12 flat rate, 10-24 hours - $18 flat rate. 

Walking from the garage, head southwest on York Street toward Cedar Street, for approximately 80 feet. Turn left onto Cedar Street. Continue down Cedar Street until you arrive at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Cedar Street. The Anlyan Center will be across the street. Howard Avenue Garage, 747-821 Howard Ave, New Haven, CT 06519, opposite from Yale-New Haven Hospital. The garage is open from 6 am to 9 pm during week days only. Rates: $2 per hour. Walking from the garage, head south on Vernon Street toward Congress Avenue for approximately 300 feet. Turn left onto Congress Avenue and continue walking until you arrive at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Cedar Street. The Anlyan Center is located at this intersection.
